Girlfriend Demands He Gets Rid of His Dog—It Wasn’t a RUFF Decision for Him

Many families see their dogs as an essential part of the family. Between the endless love, cuddles, and kisses, dogs just tug at our heartstrings.

The problem arises when other people don’t see your dog as a family member. Whether it’s a landlord, a friend, or a significant other, it can be hard to be forced to choose.

Recently, one man was forced to choose between his dog and his girlfriend. They were planning on moving in together when his girlfriend asked him to get rid of his Beagle, Molly.

After he was asked to get rid of the dog, he posted an ad on Craigslist. It was posted under the “community/pets” section. Check out the full description below.

“My girlfriend does not like my beagle Molly. So I have to rehome her. She is a purebred from a wealthy area and I have had her for 4 years. She likes to play games. Not totally trained. Has long hair so she’s a little high maintenance, especially the nails, but she loves having them done.”

”Stays up all night yapping but sleeps while I work. Only eats the best, most expensive food. Will NEVER greet you at the door after a long day or give you unconditional love when you’re down. Does not bite but she can be mean as hell!”

This seems like a strange description for a dog, right. Most dogs love their people, give all of the love in the world, and love to greet you when you get home. That’s when the poster explains why the description doesn’t seem quite right.

“So....anyone interested in my 30-year-old, selfish, wicked, gold-digging girlfriend? Come and get her! Me and my dog want her re-homed ASAP!!”

This man made the perfect decision! Instead of getting rid of his dog, who had already become a close family member, he made the decision to get rid of his girlfriend!

Alright, so maybe posting a Craigslist ad to break up with his girlfriend was a little extreme, but we’re still glad to see that he was able to keep Molly around!

In other news, this elderly dog was overjoyed with the sweetest Christmas gift this year. Check it out here.
