Let’s talk about that thing that no one wants to talk about: the dreaded snowfall. Nope, not the cold, wet kind—the dry flaky kind. Dandruff.
It’s not really something we like to talk about, but most people experience dandruff or a similar scalp issue at some point in their lives. If you haven’t can you please share your secret?
The worst part about seborrhoeic dermatitis (dandruff) is that it’s a condition, not a disease, so there’s no cure. There are so many different reasons that dandruff occurs that there’s no way to even look for a cure.
For me, it’s not typically the white flaky patches—it’s extreme itching and discomfort. It can get especially bad in the colder weather (so buckle up, y’all—it’s coming!). It might be something entirely different for you.
Here’s the kicker—the exact same end result (dandruff) can be caused by too much oil or by not enough oil, so it’s hard to treat it either way without knowing which is the problem for you. Even if you do find a treatment that works, your skin will build up a tolerance to that and it might stop working eventually. And most of the anti-dandruff shampoos are chemical-ridden—which just adds to all of the junk we already use.
