While the Philadelphia Eagles were on the road preparing to face the Carolina Panthers, something special happened. Wide receiver Marcus Johnson was baptized for the first time as his teammates surrounded him in prayer.

Johnson took to Twitter to announce his new life in Christ and shared a photo of the special moment.

“First time being Baptized! Corporate Worship is a beautiful thing!! Cleansed & Reborn in JESUS name!!” he wrote.

It didn’t end there either. Johnson’s baptism inspired others to join him in his new heavenly family as well.

The Eagles have a large number of star players who are outspoken Christians, including quarterback Carson Wentz. Wentz, tight ends Zach Ertz and Trey Burton, lineman Stefen Wisniewski, and backup quarterback Nick Foles were just some of the many players that surrounded Johnson in support of his decision.

Johnson isn’t the first Eagles player to be baptized in a pool. Last season, linebackers Jordan Hicks, Mychal Kendricks, and Kamu Grugier-Hill, along with receivers Paul Turner and David Watford were all baptized in the team’s recover pool.
