During this mass shooting, 53-year-old Mike McGarry's only goal was to protect his family.

“It was crazy — I laid on top of the kids. They’re 20. I’m 53. I lived a good life,” McGarry told Reuters. McGarry recalled having shoe prints on the back of his shirt due to individuals running overtop of him trying to find safety.

The hero below explained that after the shooting was over, he rushed to put injured people into a truck.

Another video shows someone going up to a woman in a truck and saying, “Hey Bud, right now, we need your truck. We just need to get people over to the hospital, okay?”

“Okay,” a woman said from inside the vehicle. “Put them all in the back.”

Another hero, Jessica Perez, who was in bed at her house, heard about the shooting. Perez, her brother, and her cousin loaded up her car with water and headed for the scene.

“We couldn’t just sit at home doing nothing,” Perez said. “Everyone was begging us, please don’t go, but we couldn’t sit there.”

These good Samaritans are heroes. All the brave men and women in uniform are heroes. Please keep everyone who was affected by this terrible event in your thoughts and prayers. In other news, a woman's son fell into a coma, her husband died, and when her son wakes up, he says this about his dad!
