In 1454, the first book to be mass produced using Johannes Gutenberg’s printing press was the Bible.

The chapter and verse numbers we know today were not added until the 13th and 16th century

In 1238 Cardinal Hugo de Sancto Caro added the chapter numbers and in 1551 Robertus Stephanus added the numbers for the verses.
