Amazon Recalls 260,000 Products Due to Chemical Burns and House Fires

Amazon is recalling over 260,000 AmazonBasics portable battery chargers due to random fires from overheating. So far, 53 cases of overheating have been reported. Some of the more severe side-effects of these overheating chargers include four cases of fires causing property damage and one report of a chemical burn due to contact with battery acid.

Recalled chargers were sold online between December 2014 and July 2017 at a few Amazon Bookstores and Amazon Pop-Up Stores. They ranged between $9 and $40 in price.
