A little girl and her very relieved dad will be reunited soon, and it’s all thanks to a Good Samaritan who made the decision to get involved.
The Florida resident spotted Ariana Bozeman at a rest area after the ten-year-old had been missing for almost a year.
Police say that Ariana was abducted by her biological mother, Dawn Closson, last summer after she lost custody. The girl was in the company of Closson when she was found.
“According to People, “The mother, Dawn Closson, has been arrested and booked into the Columbia County jail. She has not yet appeared before a judge on formal charges.”
The Utah Department of Public Safety released a statement saying that Ariana was first reported missing on August 11, 2018.
Authorities had been searching for her ever since. Police say they were operating on the suspicion that Ariana had been kidnapped after the custody dispute with the father, Adrian Bozeman.
Shortly thereafter, a bench warrant in Utah was issued for Closson’s arrest, citing ‘custodial interference across state lines,’ a third-degree felony.
According to News4, “Investigators in Utah said they got a tip from an anonymous Florida resident who noticed something suspicious about the girl and her mother.
“Investigators said the tipster went online, saw news reports about the girl and called them. Columbia County deputies said they located the 10-year-old inside an SUV at a rest stop along Interstate 75 near Lake City [Florida].”
After receiving the good news, Adrian drove all the way from Oklahoma where he is stationed to Florida. He said he was looking forward to the drive back and the chance to get reacquainted with his precious daughter.
"I didn’t know what physical or mental state my daughter would be in, so I figure we would have no choice but to talk to each other.
“I get to learn more about her because she’s been gone for so long," Bozeman said.
"I think I’m going to be cool about it. I think I’m going to break down. I think I’m going to be nervous. I’m going through all these different emotions. I want to be strong for her.
"I can’t stop thinking about seeing her face and hearing her voice," he said.
