Just In: At Least 20 People Killed After Bombs Explode in a Place of Worship

According to "Reuters," there have been several explosions around a mosque in northeast Nigeria Tuesday.

The bombs have killed at least 20 people in the town of Mubi. It bore the signs of Islamist militant group known as Boko Haram, which is known for deploying suicide bombers in crowded places.

According to Abdullahi Yerma, a police commissioner in Adamawa state, the suicide bomber arrived at the mosque at approximately 1:00 p.m. (1200 GMT), while another bomber detonated the device about 220 yards away.

 

“About 20 people have died”, Yerma said, adding that several others were injured.

Last Thursday, the jihadist group sent bombers to attack Maiduguri and killed four people. There have been more than 30,000 people killed in the attacks, which has driven over two million people to leave their homes.
