Betty White Has the Secret to a Healthy Life: Vodka and Hotdogs

January 11, 2018

Oh, Betty White. Who doesn't love Betty White? Her role as Rose Nylund in "Golden Girls," is where it's at for me. Of course, everything else she does is fantastic. It's hard not to go to a film that she's in — it's basically impossible.

White turns 96 in January, and we are excited to see how she's going to celebrate. She appeared on the latest front cover of "Parade" magazine and had an informative, yet amusing, interview.

“I know it sounds corny, but I try to see the funny side and the upside, not the downside," White said "I get bored with people who complain about this or that. It’s such a waste of time.”

When White was asked what she wants for her birthday, she quickly said Robert Redford. Redford his her number one celebrity crush and to many of her fans, it's not a secret. Interestingly enough, she's never met the man. We can see that being a 2018 goal for White.

Aside from her hunky crush, White explains her secret to her long and healthy life:

“Enjoy life,” she says. “Accentuate the positive, not the negative. It sounds so trite, but a lot of people will pick out something to complain about, rather than say, ‘Hey, that was great!’ It’s not hard to find great stuff if you look.”

White went on to say that vodka and hotdogs were a must in her diet. "Probably in that order," she said. It's good to know that people can splurge a little and still live a long and happy life.
