On Wednesday, June 13, "CBS" reported that Sarah Huckabee Sanders is planning on leaving her post at the White House at the end of this year. In addition to Sanders, principal deputy press secretary Raj Shah is reportedly jumping ship as well.
"CBS" claims that a source from inside the White House has said that the two employees are "heading for the exits." They also reported that a friend of Sanders told them that she was leaving at the end of 2018.
Before the article went live, the author said that "neither Sanders nor Shah responded to repeated requests for comment." Sanders has since responded via Twitter.
"Does @CBSNews know something I don’t about my plans and my future?" Sanders tweeted. "I was at my daughter’s year-end Kindergarten event and they ran a story about my 'plans to leave the WH' without even talking to me. I love my job and am honored to work for @POTUS."
"CBS" has also updated their article including Sanders' tweet but failed to update anything else. While it is true that there have been a handful of departures lately at the White House, Sanders as assured the American people that she said no such thing.
After just a few short hours, she has over 10,000 retweets, over 29,000 likes, and over 8,000 comments. Many people were expressing their gratitude towards her and praised her for her work while also blasting "CBS" for reporting fake news.
