There always seems to be a feud brewing between Queen Elizabeth II and Camilla Parker Bowles. The reason has come to light recently when British journalist Tom Bower disclosed some gut-wrenching information.
The Queen has made it relatively clear that she is not a huge fan of Prince Charles' second wife. Over two decades their unsteady relationship has never really flourished.
Bower's new book titled "Rebel Prince: The Power, Passion and Defiance of Prince Charles" is a tell-all story about the royal family. Many details stem from Her Majesty and Camilla's turbulent relationship.
After the beloved Princess Diana passed away from a tragic car accident in 1997, Prince Charles approached his mother at Balmoral Castle. It was reported that she had "several martinis" already that night when her son confronted her.
In the summer of 1988, the Queen couldn't hold her tongue any longer when she revealed how she really felt about Camilla. The Queen knew that her son had an affair with Camilla while he was married to Diana, so keeping her mouth shut was a hard task to do.
That boozy summer led Charles to talk to his mother about welcoming Camilla into the royal monarchy. The Queen was fuming — her brutal response led Charles to tears when he called up his lover informing her about the news.
During the mother-son conversation, Bower claims that the Queen had "several martinis" and "vented her anger" by calling Camilla "that wicked woman," and said, "I want nothing to do with her."
"She would not condone his adultery, nor forgive Camilla for not leaving Charles alone to allow his marriage to recover," Bower concluded.
