3 Dead, 40+ Injured After Man Rams SUV Into Crowd At Square; Some Victims Stabbed

On Wednesday, September 12, a man, who was driving an SUV, allegedly rammed his vehicle into dozens of people at a busy square in southern China, BBC reports. According to multiple media reports, there are at least three people who were killed, and more than 40 others have been seriously injured.

The man drove his vehicle into the crowded square in Hengyang city, Hunan province at approximately 19:40 local time. Some local media report that several victims have been stabbed.

Police say that the driver has a criminal record and has been apprehended by authorities, but his identity has not yet been released. Officials have not disclosed if this incident was terror-related.

The video below shows dozens of people running out of the square, and it also shows individuals carrying the injured away from the scene. Some bodies are seen left on the ground.
