“Clown Runs for Congress” might be a mudslinging tactic used by the opposition during an election, but in this case, it is 100% true.

Steve Lough is running for Congress for South Carolina’s 5th congressional district. He is running against four others in South Carolina’s Democratic primary for the seat held by GOP Rep. Ralph Norman.

What makes Lough stand out from the crowd is that he is a clown.

Lough was a clown with the Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus. He grew up in Camden, South Carolina and attended Dartmouth College as well as the Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Clown College.

Lough is campaigning for reforming gun laws and providing universal access to health care. He also was a volunteer for the presidential campaigns of Barack Obama and Bernie Sanders.

Lough’s campaign slogan is “Aim high! Vote Lough!”
