Eli Manning and Odell Beckham are a great quarterback-receiver combo for the New York Giants. In an NFL ad, the two proved their friendship...by dancing.
In the ad, the two work together to get a touchdown. Instead of celebrating by cheering, though, the classic song, “The Time of My Life” from “Dirty Dancing” starts playing.
The two show off a little bit of fancy footwork. At the end, though, comes the real kicker. Manning beckons to Beckham.
Beckham takes off toward him and they complete their dance with the “Dirty Dancing” overhead lift. Manning hoists all 200 pounds of his teammate over his head.
Seems great and all, but did Manning actually lift Beckham over his head?
Well, yes. Mostly.
According to Cam Miller, the creative director of the advertising agency that produced the advertisement, “He’s holding him in every take. There was some help to take a little bit of the weight off. But it’s still work for him.”
So yes, but there was a little help. Though Miller made it clear that Manning definitely could’ve done the trick alone. “We kept it as minimal as we possibly could,” he said. “We all definitely think they could do that without any help, but I think asking them to do it take after take would be a bit much.”
So overall, they did actually do all the work. It just took plenty of practice. Check out the full video below.
It’s crazy to see such tough football players dance like this. They probably shouldn’t give up their day jobs any time soon.
In other news, this poor dog was neglected with its mouth duct taped shut. But then a neighbor decided to help. Read about it here.
