A Missouri woman has been arrested after her two-year-old son fell out of the car she was driving. The little boy was subsequently struck by another vehicle and later died of his injuries at a local hospital.
25-year-old Ebony Roby was being held on a $50,000 bond, St. Louis County Police said Saturday in a news release. She has been charged with first-degree child endangerment by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
The tragedy occurred late Friday afternoon near Interstate 70 in St. Louis County.
“After Elijah was hit, his mother picked him up, put him back in her car and drove to a Shell gas station nearby to call 911.”
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that Elijah Roby “was taken to a hospital in critical condition, but was later pronounced dead.”
Police are not saying how the boy came to fall out of the moving vehicle, but the driver who hit him stopped and is cooperating with the police.
Please join us in praying for this little boy’s family. Elijah leaves behind six young siblings, ages nine months to nine years.
