The 46-year-old woman who was highly critical of Prince Philip after she was involved in a car crash with him has had her driver's license suspended for six months for her own driving infractions.
“A court official said Fairweather entered guilty pleas to the four offences in writing and she was sentenced behind closed doors on Tuesday under the single justice procedure.” Fairweather also incurred a fine in the judgment.
The incident involving Fairweather and 97-year-old Prince Philip occurred in Sandringham in January.
“Emma Fairweather, 46, was a passenger in a Kia car which collided with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Land Rover Freelander near the Queens Sandringham estate on January 17 this year.”
The Duke said he was temporarily blinded by the sun and failed to see the Kia in which Fairweather was a passenger.
The two vehicles collided, resulting in the Duke’s Land Rover flipping on its side. He had to be rescued by a passing motorist.
The Kia held three people; the driver and Fairweather were injured and were treated at a hospital. A nine-month-old infant, also in the car, was not hurt.
Following the accident, Fairweather was very vocal in her criticism of the Duke of Edinburgh for his lack of concern for her wellbeing.
“After January’s crash, Fairweather said she was upset that no one from the royal family had contacted her to offer an apology.
"She then branded Philip ‘highly insensitive and inconsiderate’ after he was seen driving without a seatbelt 48 hours after the crash. Fairweather called for him to be prosecuted if found guilty.”
Prince Philip later voluntarily surrendered his driver’s license and, according to the Crown Prosecution Service, the 97-year-old husband of the Queen “faces no further action.”
Outspoken social media users who had followed this story for four months had plenty to say about today's news.
“Oh and all this from Emma Fairweather who made such a hoo-ha in order to get her 5 minutes of fame...... What an absolute hypocrite! 🚮”
“What an absolute hypocrite. Slams someone for an accident cries that she never got an apology and here she is breaking road traffic laws. Always thought she was shameful, this compounds that.”
“I called this woman out straight away, suck it up, you reap what you sow love 😂 “
"Now if #TheQueen had a good sense of ironic humour she would ask to appear on #GoodMorning so that she could demand an apology from #EmmaFairweather."
