Former Disney Channel star Caroline Sunshine has just accepted a once in a lifetime opportunity. The 22-year-old actress has decided to toss her Mickey Mouse hat up in the attic in exchange for a White House press badge.
The young conservative is known for her co-starring role in Disney Channel's "Shake It Up." She starred alongside Bella and Zendaya Thorn, according to "Deadline."
After she dabbled in the entertainment industry for a few years, she found her calling, and it wasn't acting (at least for right now), it's politics. She started an internship for the Office of House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, then the College Republican National Committee, and the California Republican Party.
Sunshine was also active in her school's model United Nations group. From there, she decided to apply to become an intern at the White House and she was accepted.
In 2014, she traveled to Peru with a team of individuals who volunteered for “Starkey Hearing Foundation.” “Starkey” is a nonprofit global organization that provides hearing aids to people in need.
“When we reflect care into our world, we give each other the love and strength needed to meet the challenges ahead,” Sunshine wrote on Instagram.
She will be joining the team as a press assistant and will likely be assisting White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders according to “TMZ.”
According to “IMDb,” Sunshine's last television credit was in the Lifetime movie, "Mommy, I Didn't Do It," in 2017. Sunshine is the latest media figure to join President Trump's team.
