Among those he called out were Hugh Jackman, Kat Dennings, Chris Pratt, and Rober Downey Jr.
"So touched by all of the celebrities posting pictures of themselves with Stan Lee... no better way to commemorate an absolute legend than putting up a picture of yourself," Hammer tweeted on Monday.
Twitter users ripped apart Hammer for criticizing how other people grieve a person's death. One woman on Twitter said the photos captured fond memories these celebrities had with Lee and they wanted to share the photos publicly.
Another Twitter user said, "Don’t hurt yourself falling off your high horse Armie. Like seriously chill and let people grieve the passing of someone the way they want/need to without coming across as judgemental and harsh."
Another one wrote, "Aaaaaaaand just by telling people how to grieve, you've made this wonderful man's passing, all about you. I'm a fan of yours 100%, but this was just not right. Also some of those 'celebrities' are your friends. And human beings."
