Famous Country Singer Files for Divorce After Years of Marriage

March 05, 2018

On Friday, Kimberly Perry, lead singer for "The Band Perry," has called it quits with her husband J.P. Arencibia. The couple was married for nearly four years.

Perry, 34, filed for divorce from former MLB player, on Friday stating that it was due to irreconcilable differences. PEOPLE reached out to Perry, but her representative asked for privacy, though they did confirm the news.

On Sunday, Perry wrote on Instagram stating the news:

"Yes, sadly it's true, my marriage has come to an end. I know that beauty will come from these ashes and, as always, I want to thank you all for your love and support. I'll be in touch soon."

Arencibia may have hinted to the breakup with his Instagram post:

“Don’t worry about a thing ‘cause every little thing is gonna be all right.”

Perry and Arencibia met in February 2012 at the Florida Strawberry Festival. Arencibia asked their mutual connections to arrange a meeting. In October 2013, Arencibia proposed to Perry in her parents' backyard with a 3.3-carat ring.

In June 2014, the two got married at the First Presbyterian Church in Greeneville, Tennessee. Close family and friends celebrated the day with the couple along with several huge country stars, such as Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, and Miranda Lambert.

Please keep Perry and Arencibia in your prayers during this difficult time. In other news, Chip and Joanna are starting a new show! Check out the details here!
