Hall of Famer and NBA 76ers star basketball player, Hal Greer, has passed away. He was 81 years old.
The 76ers announced his death Monday afternoon, but did not go into details as to what the cause of death was nor did they say where in Arizona he passed away.
Greer starred alongside Wilt Chamberlain playing for the Philadelphia 76ers. The team went 68-13 and won the 1966-1967 NBA championship.
Greer, a 10-time All-Star, played his entire 15-year career for the 76ers, formally the Syracuse Nationals. The team drafted him as the 13th pick in the 1958 NBA draft.
According to ESPN, during the 76er's title run in 1966-1967, Greer averaged a team-high 27.7 points over the 15 games during the playoff. This helped dethrone the eight-year champion Boston Celtics.
The All-Star has scored more than 20,000 points in his NBA career and was inducted into the "Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame" in 1982.
Please keep his family and friends in your prayers during this difficult time. In other news, a famous actor suddenly ends engagement weeks before their wedding.
