Okay. Admit it. This is the stuff dreams are made of! How many of us fantasize about not only the delectable meat product on our plates at breakfast time but also getting it absolutely free?
Now’s your chance. The world’s largest burger chain has announced its first-ever ‘Bacon Hour’ and fans of the scrumptiously delightful treat are overjoyed!
McDonald's, the home of the ‘Golden Arches’ is going All-in for bacon. But there’s a catch…it’s for only ONE HOUR. “The fast-food chain has announced that it will be hosting a “Bacon Hour” on Jan. 29 at participating restaurants across the country, during which diners will be able to add bacon to any menu item for free.”
The clever promotion is in conjunction with McDonald’s new “bacon-inclusive” menu items that will be available for a limited time starting the following day, January 30th, including the “Big Mac Bacon burger, the Quarter Pounder bacon burger, and Cheesy Bacon Fries.”
Chef Michael Haracz, McDonald’s manager of culinary innovation said, “People love bacon, and they love our iconic Big Mac, fresh beef Quarter Pounder burgers and world-famous fries, so we had to see what would happen if we combined all that tastiness,”
He went onto say, “As a bacon enthusiast myself, I’m proud to say that we’ve done right by bacon fans.”
Bacon-lovers who plan to get in on this one-of-a-kind promotion need to pay special attention to the ‘when’ and the ‘where’ so as to not face bitter disappointment.
“According to McDonald’s, customers hoping to take advantage of Mickey D’s upcoming Bacon Hour on Jan. 29 will need to make a purchase between 4 and 5 p.m., at which point they will also receive two half-pieces of Applewood smoked bacon, to do with as they please.”
And if you’re wondering if your friendly neighborhood McDonald’s is participating, the company promises that “most” of its stores will take part in the promotion.
Unfortunately, if you happen to live in Hawaii, Alaska, or U.S. territories, you are sadly out-of-luck.
It will be interesting to see how the fast-food joint plans to handle all the expected demand during the “Bacon Hour.” I would suggest you come early and plan to wait in line a LONG time…Good luck to you!
