Former President George H.W. Bush may be battling an infection, but that hasn’t stopped him from continuing to be a world-class individual and inspiration to us all.
Bush posted a heartfelt thank you on Twitter to everyone involved with helping himself and his family over the past few weeks.
“My family and I thank Mayor Sylvester Turner, his terrific staff, Houston Police, METRO Houston, Second Baptist Church, St. Martin’s Daughters of the King, and really all Houstonians, for your professionalism and obvious care in making Barbara’s visitors and funeral guests feel so welcomed. Thank you all,” the former president wrote.
The former first lady died on April 17.
Bush made no mention of his current health in his statement. He has been at the Houston Methodist Hospital since Sunday.
Only a day after his wife’s funeral, Bush contracted an infection that spread to his blood.
According to a family spokesman, Bush is “responding and recovering.”
We continue to pray for the Bush family and the health of George H.W. Bush as these have not been easy days for the last couple of weeks.
There is good news for the Bush family, however. See why in the next article below.
