Congratulations to the Bush family! Former President George H.W. Bush has just expanded his family with the cutest family member ever.
He is cute, furry, and enjoys a good belly rub. Yes, that is right, the Bush family just welcomed a yellow Labrador retriever to the family. Meet Sully!
The former president shared the photo with the world on Twitter Monday. The photo includes himself, Sully, and former president Bill Clinton.
"A great joy to welcome home the newest member of our family, "Sully," a beautiful -- and beautifully trained -- lab from @AmericasVetDogs. Could not be more grateful, especially for their commitment to our veterans," Mr. Bush wrote.
Many might be wondering how the sweet lab got his name. The name is after Chelsey "Sully" Sullenberger who is the former pilot who landed his plane in the New York's Hudson River in 2009.
Sully even has his own Instagram page. At this time, he has just two photos to gush over.
On Tuesday, June 26, Sully "posted" to his page describing how he is doing at Walker's Point — Mr. Bush's summer home — in Maine.
"I started settling in at Walker’s Point yesterday," he says. "Lots of new smells and kind people. I have had a lot of training to get to this point, it hasn’t always been easy, but I am ready for the job. 'Any definition of a successful life must include service to others.'"
Bush, 94, mentioned that this dog isn't just any dog; he is a service dog trained by "America's Vet Dogs." This company trains dogs to be service dogs for disabled veterans and first responders.
