Alabama police responded to an emergency call late this evening when reports of a gunman shot two people in a hospital. The shooter opened fire on two individuals at the UAB Highlands Hospital in Birmingham.
The occurrence happened around 7 p.m. Wednesday evening on the second floor of the hospital. Authorities confirmed that the two victims were male employees.
Authorities reportedly said that after the gunman shot the two people, he turned the gun on himself.
According to Capt. H.R. Watson of Birmingham Fire and Rescue, the victims are in critical condition. It's still unclear if there are any connections between the three individuals; Watson said that the police "still have a lot to find out."
