In Tennessee, Keaton Jones' mother recorded her son's emotional breakdown after he was bullied at school. He was afraid to go to lunch because of all the hateful words he received.
While fighting back tears, Keaton kept asking, "Why?"
“Just out of curiosity, why do they bully? What’s the point of it?” he asked his mother. “Why do you find joy in taking innocent people and finding a way to be mean to them? It’s not okay.”
His mother, who never appears in the video, arrived to pick up her son early from school again because Keaton was afraid to go to lunch. Recording the video was Keaton's idea, according to his mother.
“They make fun of my nose. They call me ugly. They say I have no friends,” Keaton continues. The bullies “put milk on me and put ham down my clothes, throw bread on me.”
And it's not just Keaton feeling the wrath, other kids are being bullied also.
When his mother asked how that made him feel, he says, “I don’t like that they do it to me. And I, for sure, don’t like that they do it to other people, cause it’s not okay! People that are different don’t need to be criticized about it. It’s not their fault.”
Towards the end of the recording, Keaton tried to find hope. However, with very little optimism coming from his voice, he says, “But if you are made fun of, just don’t let it bother you. Just stay strong, I guess. It’s hard. But it’ll probably get better one day.”
As this post was going viral (it had more than 15 million views in the span of two days), many celebrities and athletes noticed and reached out to Keaton.
