Unfortunate news crossed the newsroom this morning, an A-List celebrity and his wife have divorced after 14 years together.
Dennis Quaid and Kimberly Buffington-Quaid are officially divorced after two years since the original filings.
According to PEOPLE, Buffington-Quaid filed for divorce in 2016 and will receive $2 million in a lump sum check, another $1 million for property settlements, and $13,750 a month for child support.
Even though Quaid and Buffington-Quaid will have joint custody of their twins Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace, both 10 years old, Buffington-Quaid was awarded 75 percent of the kids' time.
“After careful consideration, we have decided to end our 12-year marriage. The decision was made amicably and with mutual respect toward one another,” the two told TMZ in a joint statement at the time. “We will always remain great friends and devoted partners in raising our children.”
The couple stated that they are splitting up due to irreconcilable differences. The two were married in 2004, and Buffington-Quaid filed for divorce in March 2012 but withdrew the documents two months later.
