This story is almost too crazy to believe! A man in China was looking through his wife’s photo album when he came across a familiar photograph.
The couple, referred to as Mr. Ye and Ms. Xue, first met in 2011 and got married not long afterward. They now have twin daughters.
Last week, Mr. Ye was going through his wife’s photos of her younger days to find out which family member their daughters resembled more. That’s when he saw the photo.
The photo was his wife standing in front of a sculpture in the city Qingdao 18 years ago. What stood out to him is that he also visited that sculpture. At the same year. On the same day. At the same very moment.
That’s when he spotted someone familiar in the background of the photo. It was him!
“I heard her mention before that she had been to Qingdao, while I also went to Qingdao and took pictures at the May Fourth Square. We didn’t know it yet,” said Mr. Ye.
“When I saw the photo, I was taken by surprise and I got goosebumps all over my body. I recognized my pose for taking photos. I also took a photo, it was the same posture as seen in her photo, just from a different angle.”
He then went back home to find the photo of himself in front of the statue to compare. It was a perfect match.
When he shared his story on social media it instantly went viral. Mr. Ye said that after seeing the two photos, many of his friends have responded saying that the two were obviously meant for each other.
Mr. Ye says that he hopes to take his family to Qingdao in the future and take another picture in front of the May Fourth Square sculpture.
“It seems that Qingdao is certainly one of the most special cities for us. When the children are older, we will go to Qingdao again and the family will take a photo again,” he said.
