There has been some shocking news that has come in the newsroom this morning. A building at a detention center caught on fire during a riot late last night where police struggled to control the incident.
On Monday, November 5, at about 6:45 p.m., police were called to Don Dale Youth Detention Center in Darwin, Australia where a building was engulfed in flames and inmates had weapons.
Over the loud intercom, police were heard yelling at multiple detainees to put down their weapons, or they would face serious consequences, according to "9News."
At least 15 police cars arrived on scene with multiple fire trucks and ambulances. Other people were walking around outside the building and throwing objects at the police officers before they were told to get on the ground. Screams could be heard 330 feet away.
