Recently, a situation escalated on the set of a new Hollywood film. Witnesses say that the situation grew "toxic."
Irate Johnny Depp allegedly attacked a location manager on the set of his latest film, "LAbyrinth," according to "PageSix." The dispute happened with Depp decided to take over directing a scene.
“Johnny’s friends were in the scene, and it just turned into way more than it should have been,” an insider said.
Depp began directing a scene with the cast of two of his friends, one was playing a cop and the other was a homeless man. The scene was located on a closed-off downtown Los Angeles street, but when the time was up for the street permit, Depp wanted to keep filming.
“The producers kept asking for the time to be extended,” explained the insider.
Unfortunately for production, there was no extension. The location manager notified the director, Brad Furman, that they had to wrap things up, but "Brad interjected, 'Tell that to Johnny Depp!'"
The location manager went to inform Depp that things had to wrap up by saying, "This is the last shot."
Sources say that Depp had been "smoking and drinking all day on set," and had gotten six inches from the manager's face, yelling, "'Who are you? You have no right!'"
Reportedly, the location manager is well-liked and when he said, "I'm just doing my job," Depp tried to punch the man in the ribs.
"I'll give you $100,000 to punch me right now!" Depp yelled in his face.
The manager stood still when Depp finally stepped away. The representative for Depp had no comment about the incident.
“Johnny Depp is a consummate professional, great collaborator and a supporter of other artists,” Furman said in a statement. “He always treats the crew and people around him with the utmost respect. Movies can be stressful, and non-events often become exaggerated. We all love stories; there isn’t one here.”
