Beloved '90s Star Suffers Massive Stroke - On Same Day Series Reboot Announced. Heartbroken Fans Sit Vigil Waiting For News

February 28, 2019

TMZ is reporting the heartbreaking news that 'Riverdale' star and 'Beverly Hills, 90210' alum Luke Perry, 52, has suffered a massive stroke and is in the hospital where his condition and prognosis is 'unclear.'

The tragic news comes on the same day 'Beverly Hills, 90210' stars and its fans were thrilled to hear that the beloved '90s drama would be coming back to life, bringing favorite characters like Brandon, Brenda, Kelly, and Donna back to the small screen.

According to TMZ, “Paramedics responded to Luke's home in Sherman Oaks around 9:40 AM. We know the call came into the fire department for someone suffering a stroke, and Luke was transported to a nearby hospital. It's unclear what his condition is right now.”

Ironically, the star’s medical condition struck on the exact same day in which Fox announced that they are rebooting the immensely popular 90s series, ‘Beverly Hills, 90210.’ Perry rose to fame playing the heartthrob Dylan McKay on the show.

TMZ reports another twist to the story “While his former costars -- Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Jason Priestly, Brian Austin Green, Tori Spelling and Gabrielle Carteris -- will be on the revived series, Luke has not signed on to the project.”

Fans and costars were still hoping that Perry would eventually join the cast and cited his commitment to ‘Riverdale’ as the reason for the delay.

This story is developed. Check back for updates as they come in throughout the day.

Please join us in praying for Luke and his family as they weather this very difficult time.
