As the whole nation is being ripped apart by the rapidly changing details surrounding an alleged ‘homophobic and racist’ attack perpetrated against a young TV star, a similar incident has occurred in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Seems pretty newsworthy, right?
So, why are there shockingly few articles about it? Simply because the press seems reluctant to cover it, and when you see who the victim is, you just might understand why.
A couple shopping at Sam's Club in Bowling Green, Kentucky was accosted by a man who threatened them because they were wearing 'Make America Great Again' hats. First, the attacker made a rude gesture, then things got really hairy when the man shoved a gun in their faces.
According to the victim, Terry Pierce, the attacker pulled a gun on him because he was wearing a ‘Make America Great Again’ hat.
The altercation started inside the Sam’s Club store when the attackers, James Phillips ‘flipped off’ Pierce and his wife when he saw the hats. Then, according to Pierce, Phillips pulled out a .40 caliber gun and threatened them with these chilling words: “It’s a good day for you to die!”
That’s when Pierce reportedly made it clear he was not cowering in fear. He told 13 News:
"I said, 'Then pull the trigger. Put the gun down and fight me or pull the trigger. Whichever one you want.' And he backed up and he said it again, he said, 'It's a good day for you to die.'"
Phillips then fled the store but Piece admits following his attacker to the parking lot. The verbal part of the altercation continued with Phillips now sitting in his car.
“Is the MSM reporting on the guy who pulled a gun on 2 people wearing MAGA hats? The loon told the woman "Its a good day to die Bitch"...Where is the outrage on the MSM? They reported on a Fake political attack for a week. Ive never even heard of that Jessie guy until now. LOL”
Pierce went on to tell 13 News, "I said, 'Then pull the trigger. Put the gun down and fight me or pull the trigger. Whichever one you want.' And he backed up and he said it again, he said, 'It's a good day for you to die.'"
Pierce said that Phillips then took off. That's when Pierce followed him out into the parking lot.
"I went out the front of the store to confront him again and that's when I got him in his car. He couldn't leave because his mother was still in the store. And we were having a verbal altercation outside," said Pierce.
Pierce added, "He tried telling me I assaulted him and I said, 'I never touched you.'"
Police arrested Phillips on a charge of Wanton Endangerment, first degree and is being held in the Warren County Regional Jail.
Witness accounts and surveillance video back up Pierce’s story.
“According to the police report, surveillance video confirms Pierce's story that he did not put his hands on Phillips.
“The report does mention that witnesses and Pierce said Phillips pulled a gun on Pierce inside the store but this couldn't be seen on surveillance video due to Phillips backing out of the view of the camera.
“In the report, police say Phillips had a Glock .40 caliber with a round chambered in his back pocket and two additional magazines in another pocket. Police say Phillips has a current concealed carry permit in Tennessee, where he is from.”
The main differences between this story and the viral Jussie Smollett case are plentiful. Did you notice?
First, the media is largely ignoring this obviously-targeted attack. I had to go through Twitter with a fine-toothed comb to find any coverage. But, as we all know, the Jussie Smollett case had 24-hour coverage since the moment it broke in January.
Second, in the Smollett case, every left-leaning politician out there rallied in support of the 'victim,' jumping to conclusions about the 'attack' without ANY proof. And the media was happy to spread the fabrications. So far, I've seen nothing like this in support of Pierce and his wife.
Third, in the Kentucky crime, surveillance video and numerous witnesses completely support the victim's account of the incident. In the Jussie Smollett case, there is an alarming absence of both.
Fourth, the Smollett case added fuel to the 'race war' narrative that the left is pushing, blaming our current President for igniting the fire that has resulted. Instead, the Kentucky altercation showcases how very real the virulent 'Trump Derangement Syndrome' is. The attack on Pierce simply because he supports the president is the very definition of a 'HATE CRIME.'
Supporters of President Trump are about the only ones talking about this on social media. Is it really any surprise?
“So what is ur stance on this now? I mean with everything coming out about him highering two coworkers to stage an assault that he then turned around and blamed on two White Guys wearing #MAGA hats. Hmmm sounds like the racial attack is on White Males here.”
“Trump Derangement Syndrome among liberals has reached a fever pitch. This time, a Tennessee man named James Phillips was arrested after admitting that he pulled a gun on a couple “
“I can't help wondering if @SenKamalaHarris and @SpeakerPelosi will open their big mouths about how horrendous this was, or... maybe they know James Phillips as well as they knew Jussie.”
In an interview with the gateway Pundit, Pierce reaffirms his right to support his president’s work in what should be considered a non-threatening way. The liberals have just twisted it around to make it something that it’s not.
“I have every right to support my country and my president — and I proudly wear this hat as a symbol of trying to help MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! I’m not ashamed or afraid to wear this hat. I’m not a racist, xenophobe, sexist, or anything the left accuses our President of — which he isn’t,” Pierce told TGP.
Sure sounds like a front-page story to me! I wonder if it will get anywhere near the coverage that Jussie Smollett’s questionable story of has received.
My advice? Don’t hold your breath…
