Sad news came through this morning about a United States Marine helicopter crash in Southern California. At this time, reports are saying that four soldiers are presumed dead.
Authorities are saying the CH-53E Super Stallion crashed Tuesday at around 2:35 p.m. near El Centro, which is near the U.S.-Mexico border.
"Four crew members were aboard the aircraft. The status of all four is presumed dead pending positive identification," the Marines said in a statement to ABC.
At this time, the Marine Corps said that they are withholding the soldier's identities for the next 24 hours until next-of-kin announcements were complete.
While the crash is still under investigation, the Marine Corp told Fox News that it occurred during a routine training mission. All four who were aboard are presumed to be dead.
This crash is the deadliest for the Marine's since a cargo plane crashed into the Mississippi Delta last July killing all 16 people. For details of that crash, check out the footage below:
Please keep the family of these soldiers in your prayers.
