The Duchess of Sussex is certainly no stranger to the red carpet. In her former life as American actress Meghan Markle, the ‘Suits’ star walked plenty of them.
But since she married Prince Harry and joined the Royal Family last year, she has not stepped foot on one. Now, it looks as though she is going to get her chance.
Palaces sources have confirmed that she and hubby Harry will be among the dignitaries attending the July 13th London premiere of the eagerly-awaited Disney remake of ‘The Lion King.’
People reports, "The new parents will leave baby Archie (who enjoyed a day out at polo alongside his cousins on Wednesday) at home on Sunday evening to join the stars of the upcoming live-action revamp of the 1994 original Disney film for the European premiere in London’s West End."
The film is a live-action remake of the 1994 Disney classic that centers around a young lion who makes his way in the cruel world after his father is tragically murdered.
Voice actors include singer Beyoncé as Nala and Donald Glover as Simba.
“On Sunday, the royal couple will meet some of the cast and crew before watching the film. They will also have the chance to chat with representatives from organizations doing ground-breaking work for conservation and the environment.”
The red carpet appearance comes just a couple of months before the Duke and Duchess - and baby Archie - embark on their widely-publicized trip to South Africa this Fall.
While the family is there, Harry plans to make solo trips to nearby countries of Angola, Malawi, and Botswana, “which will continue the couple’s conservation campaigns, alongside promoting other key interests like the education of young women and girls’ education.”
