The British royal monarchy has a lot of rules; some may be over the top while others seem appropriate. But there is one rule, in particular, that is causing quite the stir on the Internet. And it pertains to the newest royal.
It seems lately that all eyes are on the newlyweds, Prince Harry and Meghan. What most people are anticipating is when the couple will be expecting a baby.
If and when Meghan becomes pregnant, the Queen has a very specific rule she must abide by before the child is born.
Many pregnant women are excited about the traditional baby shower. From custom cakes, to festive colors, and an abundance of gender-themed balloons, it makes for a memorable day.
Unfortunately, for the Duchess of Sussex, she will not be able to partake in the fun-filled event due to the strict royal protocols.
According to royal expert Victoria Arbiter, royals throwing a baby shower is "unheard of" and is "highly inappropriate." Royals, for one, are incredibly wealthy, so throwing an expected-gift-party is tacky. In fact, they can afford anything they would like for their newborn baby.
While in her younger days, Meghan was probably looking forward to a baby shower, but she likely didn't plan on marrying a wealthy royal. She is assumed to be okay with this rule, and we are very excited for the happy couple if they decide to have children.
