Original Story:

After announcing that his North American tour would be postponed due to “medical reasons” Mick Jagger fans were left wondering what was wrong with the iconic singer, assuming he had probably contracted the flu or some other virus.

But, we soon learned that the problem is much more grave than we were first led to believe.

Doctors have reportedly informed the 75-year-old Rolling Stones frontman that he will have to undergo open-heart surgery this week to repair a valve problem that, reportedly, has been causing unpleasant symptoms.

While the energetic septuagenarian has not addressed the specifics of his illness, Jagger made a statement that spoke only to the necessity of canceling his ‘No Filter’ tour which was set to kick off on April 20th.

He told fans in a tweet on Saturday that he would be "working very hard to be back on stage as soon as I can."

“I’m so sorry to all our fans in America & Canada with tickets. I really hate letting you down like this.

“I’m devastated for having to postpone the tour but I will be working very hard to be back on stage as soon as I can.

“Once again, huge apologies to everyone.”

The Drudge Report first broke the news that it has to do with his heart and that he would require immediate surgery.

Citing unidentified sources, Drudge says that “Jagger, 75, would undergo surgery this week in New York to replace a heart valve.”

The sources went on to say that the singer is expected to make a full recovery, saying that Jagger is in “extraordinary physical condition.”

Although Jagger and his bandmates were infamous during the ’60s and ‘70s for their wild lifestyle, Jagger has since cleaned up his act.

According to KFGO, “After a storied sex, drugs and rock-'n-roll lifestyle in his earlier days, Jagger now follows a healthy diet, runs, and works out frequently."

Jagger’s representatives are so certain that he will bounce back quickly that they have already begun rescheduling events.

New York Post's Page Six website, citing unidentified sources, said the surgery would involve placing a stent in the singer's heart.

Please join us in praying for a quick recovery for the lively 75-year-old legend. We look forward to seeing him back on stage VERY soon -  jumping around as though he were still 20 years old!
