This story quickly took off based on the headline alone. While, yes, the baby was found in Sandwich, she was found safe in Sandwich, Massachusetts, which is 60 miles southwest of Boston.
An 11-month-old girl, Kiah Fielding, was kidnapped by her drunken father, John Fielding. Police say the father was intoxicated and had assaulted the baby's mother.
After he assaulted her, he kidnapped Kiah and sped off. Before the incident, the mother had issued a restraining order against Fielding, even while he was still living in the home.
The Massachusetts State Police and the Yarmouth Police Department were in pursuit of Fielding and asked anyone with information to contact the police. Officials believe the baby was in danger and her life was at risk.
Fielding was believed to be driving a brown 1999 Mercury Sable, with the Massachusetts license plate number, 4188WH. The vehicle was last seen near Old Main Street in South Yarmouth.
John Fielding was described as a 38-year-old white male, with brown buzz cut hair, blue eyes, 6'2" tall, and weighing about 180 pounds.
He was last seen wearing blue jeans, dark blue t-shirts, and brown work boots. He has a shamrock tattoo on his left forearm, a Tweety bird tattoo on his left bicep, and a dragon tattoo on the back of his right shoulder.
Kiah was last seen wearing a pink onesie, pink and white striped jogging pants, with white Stride Rite sneakers. She has auburn hair and blue eyes.
A short while later, Fielding was spotted with Kiah in Sandwich. The baby was found safe, a little upset, but thankfully unharmed.
Thankfully, the baby is safe. Thank you for everyone's prayers!
