Missing 11-Year-Old Idaho Girl Founds Safe; Suspect In Custody

On Wednesday, July 25, 2018, an 11-year-old girl was abducted from her home in Caldwell, Idaho. Local authorities issued an Amber Alert due to the armed and dangerous suspect, according to KXLY.

At the time of the abduction, the police believed it was the father who had taken his daughter from her mother. The mother has full custody, according to the police.

Late Tuesday night, 48-year-old Kelly J. Vesterby snatched 11-year-old Aila N. Vesterby and quickly took off from her residence at 2320 Carnegie St. in Caldwell.

The two were traveling in a blue or green 2002 Hyundai Sante Fe SUV with the Idaho license plate 3292V. At the time, police believed the pair were headed to Mountain Home, Idaho, or Minnesota.

The following day, police arrived in Mountain Home and were able to locate Kelly and Aila. Kelly was taken into custody.
