On Friday, July 13, police are searching for a 17-year-old Arizona girl who was last heard screaming when her brother saw a vehicle zip away from their family's home.
The Phoenix police said the brother of Rosa Garcia-Acosta heard his sister screaming and then spotted a gray/white SUV drive away from their driveway.
Several days later, police have yet to track down Garcia-Acosta and believe that she was abducted by her 24-year-old boyfriend, Luis Fernando Morales. Authorities believe they are heading to Mexico and describe her as an "endangered juvenile."
“The suspect is her boyfriend,” Phoenix police spokesman Sergeant Armando Carbajal said.
“There is a history of controlling behavior on the part of Luis,” investigators said in a statement.
Garcia-Acosta is described as a Hispanic female, at 5-foot-5-inches tall, weighing 130 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen at her residence near 75th Avenue and Camelback Road.
Morales is described as a Hispanic male, at 6-foot-4-inches tall, weighing 265 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white polo shirt, black jeans, and black shoes.
Police are asking for the public's help and urge anyone who may have information regarding the couple's whereabouts to call 9-1-1, or Phoenix Police Department Missing Persons Unit at (602) 534-2121, or after hours at (602) 262-6141.
