The AMBER Alert system was invented in 1996 and stands for America’s Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response. The name Amber was chosen in memory of 9-year-old Amber Hagerman, who was kidnapped and murdered in Arlington, Texas in 1996.

No information has been released as to the boy’s condition or who took the boy as of this moment. This story will continue to update as more details emerge.
