The bodies of what are believed to belong to missing Texas man and woman have been discovered in shallow graves in another state. Police made the sad announcement on Tuesday.

Fox News reports, “The bodies of Jenna Scott, 28, and Michael Swearingin, 32, were discovered on a rural Okufuskee County property, according to KFOR-TV. The pair was last seen in Temple, Texas, on January 4th."

During a press briefing on Tuesday, Temple Police issued a statement that, while it’s not yet been confirmed, “the preliminary investigation leads detectives to believe that the bodies recovered are that of Jenna Scott and Michael Swearingin,”

"The Oklahoma State Medical Examiners Office will be responsible for making the positive identifications at autopsy," the department said on its website. ”The Scott and Swearingin families have been notified of this preliminary identification."

Although not yet charged in the murders, they do have two suspects in the crime.

“Scott’s ex-boyfriend Cedric Marks was arrested in Michigan last week on a burglary warrant out of Bell County, Texas, KFOR-TV reported. Marks wasn’t a person of interest in Scott’s murder but was accused of breaking into her Temple home in August. He was awaiting extradition to Texas.”

Marks’ wife, Ginell McDonough, has also been arrested in connection with his crime. She has been accused of harboring Marks and another woman in her home during the time of the investigation into the breaking and entering charge.

According to KCEN-TV, “McDonough, 37, faced a judge in Mukegon County, Michigan Wednesday morning on a charge of harboring a fugitive. She is accused of allowing Marks and a woman named Maya Maxwell, 26, to stay with her in her rented home” from January 5th to January 9th.

Marks has a checkered past. This isn’t the first time he has been associated with someone who has gone missing.

“Police in Minnesota confirmed Tuesday that Marks, according to KCEN-TV, was a possible person of interest in the 2009 disappearance of his 30-year-old ex-girlfriend April Pease, but was never named a suspect.”

Please join us in sending condolences to the families of the deceased couple. And keep those prayers going as this is not likely to be an easy time for those who loved Jenna and Michael.
