It has been reported by the authorities that three people have been found dead in a fatal medical helicopter crash in northern Wisconsin. It is still unclear whether the Ascension Wisconsin Spirit helicopter contained all Ascension employees.
The crash likely happened Thursday night as the last known contact with the helicopter occurred at 10:55 pm. The helicopter was found Friday morning where three people were confirmed dead.
The dispatcher received a call that the helicopter was missing just 25 minutes after its departure. CBS states, “A spokesman for the FAA told CBS affiliate WSAW that the helicopter departed Madison en route to Woodruff and crashed about 12 miles south of its destination.”
The helicopter was found in a small town called Hazelhurst. The towns is about 150 miles northwest of Green Bay.
It is still unclear why the plane crashed or what victims are involved. We will update this article as new information is released.
