1 Dead at State University; Suspect on The Run

Late Sunday night, a 19-year-old freshman was fatally stabbed by an unidentified male on the school’s campus.

 

 

The tragic incident took place on New York's Binghamton University campus at around 10:30 p.m. Sunday. The suspect remains at large, according to local news channel, WHEC.

The police identified the victim as engineering student Joao Souza. Authorities also believe that the event was not a random act.

The University canceled classes Monday due to the devastating event. The school has even offered counseling sessions for anyone who needs it.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned male wearing a dark "Puma" hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
