One Dead, Several Injured After TV Station Tower Collapses in Missouri

Some devastating news that crossed the newsroom this Thursday morning. At least one person has died after a TV station tower collapses in Missouri.



According to "Springfield News," the Assistant Fire Chief Rob Talburt said that one person has died after the collapse of the nearly 2,000-foot tall tower, and several have been injured.


The tower was used to broadcast Ozarks Public Television and KSMU, according to the spokesman for the Missouri State University.


Several people were working on the tower at the time of the incident. Aside from the one fatality, the others who were injured did not sustain life-threatening injuries.


It is still unclear as to what caused the TV station tower to collapse.


According to Thomas Simmons, the Director of the Emergency Management of Webster County, heard that there were seven people on the tower at the time.
