Independence Day is an American holiday we celebrate each year on July 4th. It represents our adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776—which in turn made us a separate and free nation apart from the British Empire. Freedom is a lot to celebrate! At least we think so.
Here is what is open and closed on July 4, 2018:
Federal/State/Municipal Offices/Courts: CLOSED
USPS/UPS/Fed Ex/: CLOSED
Malls: Most are open on July 4, but certain areas may have early closures. It is always safe to check with your local mall's hours of operation.
Grocery Stores: Most all grocery stores are open on July 4, though some may close early. Check with your local grocery store to be sure.
Home Depot: OPEN
As you may have noticed, the only retail store on the list to actually close is Costco. Quick shout out to Costco for giving their employees a day with their families and time to celebrate July 4 for all it is!
