While news outlets keeps buzzing about Oprah's potential presidential running in 2020, Oprah has other important things on her mind: flooding and mudslides in her hometown, Montecito, California.
Recently, Oprah posted several videos and pictures of the flooding and mudslides to her Instagram page. She said that her home had been damaged alongside her neighbors.
In her post, she talks about a gas fire (which is shown in the video), the knee-deep mud in her backyard, and a helicopter rescuing her neighbors and searching for missing people.
“What a day! Praying for our community again in Santa Barbara,” Oprah wrote.
The southern part of California was stricken with heavy rain causing flash floods, mudslides, and dangerous debris flow. As of Thursday, 28 people have been wounded, while many others have been found dead. Once the water subsides, officials are worried to find other residents under the flooding waters and debris.
Several other celebrities' homes have been hit hard by the storm. Rob Lowe and Ellen DeGeneres asked for prayers and good thoughts as officials search for missing people and rescue stranded residents.
Please continue to pray for everyone involved! May people reach out in prayer, asking for God’s mercy and grace. We ask that God offer guidance and clarity for rescuers as they search homes and provide medical care to the injured.
If you are struggling with this California disaster or other forms of disaster in your life, this article offers support.
