It came as a surprise to many people when Meghan Markle's father took an interview with "Good Morning, Britain" (GMB), but it was an even bigger surprise when he said what he said. From Prince Charles walking his daughter down the aisle to what Prince Harry said about President Donald Trump, it was a lot for viewers to hear.
We quickly found out that Markle and his new son-in-law do not see eye-to-eye when it comes to politics. In the "loose conversation," according to Markle, Prince Harry and him were discussing how much Markle dislikes President Trump.
"Our conversation was I was complaining about not liking Donald Trump," Markle explained.
"Give Donald Trump a chance," Harry reportedly replied to Markle, who said, "I sort of disagree with that."
While it's okay to have differences of opinion, it was what he said next to Harry that didn't settle right with the audience and royal fans across the globe.
Markle said in the interview that despite that the two never meeting in person, they did joint phone calls together. The latest phone call is when things took a turn.
“She's a smart girl and she made a good pick, didn't she,” Markle said. “Actually, Meghan told me first and then a few times after that, Harry got on the phone with Meghan, they called me together, and Harry asked for her hand over the phone."
"I said, 'You're a gentleman, promise me you'll never raise your hand against my daughter and of course I give you my permission,'" he added.
Many people are calling this statement, "bizarre," or "random," or "uncalled for." What do you think? Let us know! In other news, a beloved singer gets married to his girlfriend of six years. Congratulations!
