Big news has just come in this morning for the royal clan. Royal fans across the globe are excited about this big announcement.
It was confirmed Wednesday morning by Kensington Palace that Prince William and Kate Middleton's 8-week-old son will be christened next month.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to announce that the christening of Prince Louis will take place on Monday 9th July at The Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace, London,” the palace wrote in a statement.
Just like his siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, Louis' service will be carried out by Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby.
Reverend Welby baptized Prince George in October 2013 and Princess Charlotte in July 2015. He also recently officiated Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding in May.
Prince Louis' christening will be held at St. James's Palace's Chapel Royal, just like his big brother's was. The Chapel Royal is the same place Meghan had her christening earlier this year.
There were no additional details provided at this time, but it is expected that after the service the family will be taking some portraits that same day.
Since Kate has been on her maternity leave and has been staying out of the public's eye, she will be attending her son's christening. All of the Kate Middleton fans will be thrilled to see her out and about. She is expected to return to her royal duties in October once her maternity leave is finished.
