Well, we knew it would happen - for sure before the public did. But we never dreamed there would be photos of the momentous occasion for all of us to swoon over!
We’re so glad Harry, Meghan, and the Queen decided to let us in on this precious moment - when the Queen met the youngest member of her ever-growing family.
Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor had a big day on Wednesday. Barely two days old and he was already posing for the press!
First, he and his mom and dad appeared before a throng of photographers and media reps to make his public debut. And he did not disappoint!
Nestled peacefully in his father’s arms, not a peep was heard from the tightly swaddled bundle.
Mom Meghan gazed lovingly at her little boy as she and Harry answered a couple of questions that everyone was dying to know.
But the one question they did not answer was the name of their son. As they turned and walked away after the presser, we became convinced that we would be hearing from them again. At least in a day or two.
But we didn’t have to wait that long. Just hours after the appearance, they made the big announcement on their Instagram page.
And from then on, he would no longer be called simply ‘Baby Sussex.’ Now, the seven pound, three ounce prince will be known as ‘Archie.’
And, of course, Royal protocol had to be followed. The Queen is supposed to be the first person outside of the father to meet any new baby. And apparently, it happened just before the Sussex family of three smiled for cameras on Wednesday morning.
The gorgeous photo has hit the media and it delivers everything we had hoped for, and more!
In it we see a precious Queen Elizabeth smiling from ear-to-ear at the handsome little Archie. Surrounding her were Harry, Meghan, Prince Philip, and Meghan’s mom Doria Ragland.
The look on each of their faces is priceless. Little does the new prince know, but he has made a huge impact on the lives of so many people. Not the least of which is uniting two countries with the unbreakable bond of DNA.
Congratulations to Harry and Meghan - and to Queen Elizabeth - on the birth of this little history-maker. Such a big deal, all wrapped up in a tiny, seven pounds, three ounce package of perfection:
We're so glad you're here, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor!
