There are some pretty interesting facts about Queen Elizabeth II, but the most interesting one has surfaced on the Internet. Royal fans are having a good laugh with this one.
Many of us know that she has quite the sweet tooth. If presented, she wouldn't mind snatching up a tea cookie or two, or even a dollop of chocolate mousse.
Out of all her favorite dessert dishes, she would easily choose her ultimate favorite. Chocolate cake. But not just any kind of chocolate cake, it would be chocolate biscuit cake.
According to the Queen's former chef, Darren McGrady, she loved all things chocolate, but the chocolate biscuit cake was always on the rotating menu.
“Now the Chocolate Biscuit Cake is the only cake that goes back again and again and again every day until it’s gone,” McGrady said in the interview. “She’ll take a small slice every day until eventually there is only one tiny piece, but you have to send that up, she wants to finish the whole of that cake.”
When the precious factoid was revealed, he made note that since the Queen had a slice of that cake every day, the cake had to go wherever she went. She traveled with her beloved dessert.
McGrady later confessed that he would often travel to Windsor Castle with the chocolate biscuit cake in hand. It makes sense that if you are the Queen's personal chef, it's a good idea to travel with Her Majesty's favorite dessert.
