Fan Favorite Sub Sandwich Co. Is Under Investigation After Listeria Contamination; Fatal Infections May Occur According To FDA

According to the Food and Drug Administration, a fan-favorite sandwich company has voluntarily issued a recall in nine states.

Lipari Foods, LLC has removed their grab and go sandwiches from the shelves due to being potentially contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The infected sandwiches were manufactured by Deutsch Kase Haus.

The recalled sandwiches were under the brand names, Copperwood and Lipari Old Tyme. Below you will see a chart identifying the recalled product.

According to the FDA, "Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems."

The recall issued is impacting retail stores in nine states: Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Wisconsin and West Virginia.
